I officiated basketball with Mac for many years. I can honestly say he was respected by coaches, players, fellow officials and spectators as well. Jimmy Mac was a positive person with a smile on his face at all times. I remember teaching a basketball officiating class to the prisoners at McNiel Island with Mac in the late 70s. At the end of the session Mac offered a student-inmate a whistle and suggested he look him up when he gets out so the two could officiate together. The inmate replied "No way" because he had a few life sentences to serve. Mac had a heart of gold and did everything he could to engage others. Kevin Johnson
