I played basketball with the guys that didn't turn out for their high schools and Jim was our coach for those years. He was real good coach who always engaged himself with intensity at every game we played. He would roam up and down the side line shouting out coaching (good) rants while we played. One time he had on, a pair of shoes that were not sneakers, and I believe they were penny loafers. He slammed his heel of the shoe so...hard into the wooden bleacher that he was pacing by that the heel of the shoe fell off...funny at the time. Love him and will miss him. One of the few really good ones in my life! He was a great mentor and stalwart of the South End Boys Club staff.
