I was saddened to read of Monika's passing in the Bellingham Herald. Monika and I both worked at the Mobil Oil refinery in Ferndale in 76 thru 78 when I left. She was very sweet to me, and supportive even cleaning off stuff the guys wrote on my locker and taking me out on her boat. I am sorry our lives diverged and we didn't stay in contact after I left working at the refinery but I have very fond memories of her (we laughed and joked too!)and still think of her when I drive by the house where she lived at that time. My best wishes to all her family. Even though it may not seem like it now the grief will subside over time and the good memories will remain and bring you joy.
