Condolences

Condolence From: Mavis Morris
Condolence: Dear Famlly, Janet was one of the dearest, unselfish and loving individuals I have ever met. She was so precious to the "core." Good on the outside and good on the inside.

And, a good cook. We shared many meals before husbands, Janet, and I would go to the Tacoma Theatre.

My deepest sympathy to Andrea and family. What memories you and i have of a sweet lady.

Condolence From: Bill Cunningham
Condolence: I have never met anyone who was so deft at leading from behind. She was the stalwart support system to her extended family. Every one of our dear Dick's adventures was buoyed by her support. She was one who avoided acknowledgement of her gifts that she so readily gave us all. She was always first God's child, then a mother, a wife, then the dearest of friends who would make anyone feel on top of the world. I remember sitting with her niece on the deck of their San Rafael home and eating an entire batch of her famous coffee-toffee bars (I'm sure I had more than my share). Jan left us to talk about world peace and religion as two young adults might work to save all of society. Andrea immeasurably loved her mom, and Rick respected his step-mom. Dick was in awe. "Thanks Jan" (inside joke) for what you meant to a struggling young man.

Condolence: I have wonderful memories of Janet and Dick including me in their vacations, meals and adventures. One summer I went with Janet, Dick, Rick and Andrea to Philmont, the Boy Scout camp in New Mexico, where we camped, Dick did his Boy Scout things and Janet kept us well fed. We drove all through the southwest and saw beautiful scenery (and a lot of campgrounds!)

I also remember playing in the backyard of their home in San Rafael, a fantastic tangle of berries, flowers, bushes and secret hideouts. Janet was unfailingly kind, always in the background doing whatever needed to be done.

She will be remembered with much love.
