Obituary for Warren Hamilton

The youngest of Gladys and Jimerson Hamilton’s 8 children, Warren Hamilton, was born at home in Tacoma on August 30, 1928. He had one older brother and 6 older sisters. He grew up in the Parkland and Mckinley areas of Pierce County and like many young people during the depression left school to work. Warren enlisted in the Army in 1950 and served as a soldier in an artillery unit with the Occupation Forces in Austria until his discharge as a corporal in 1952. He married a young widow, Irene Troglin, with two children, Dan and Judy, on May 25, 1956. A sister, Angie, joined the family in 1959. They were married until her death on October 10, 2008. Warren worked for the Ft Lewis Maintenance Division from 1953 to 1966, then went to work for Kaiser Aluminum until his retirement in 1986. He was an excellent mechanic, who could fix anything and an outstanding craftsman, having built more than one house and cabin. An avid fisherman and hunter, he loved spending time outdoors. After he retired, he and Irene spent their winters in Arizona until her illness prevented them from traveling. Warren was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He is survived by three children, Dan Troglin (Theresa), Judy Justice (Gene) and Angie Miller (James), eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a sister, Rosemary (Dolly) Veltri of Spokane Washington.
