To me Bob always had a little leprechaun in him. His eyes would just twinkle as he told a story--- Like when he met my daughter Crystal he saw her looking at his leg-- So he went into this elaborate story of how this dog had attacked him and you can just imagine the rest.  He did tell the truth in the end, saving my daughter from a life of being afraid of dogs.  Seriously, Bob was a bit of a mischief maker, but he had a heart of gold.
