Obituary for Richard C Brown

Richard C Brown
Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Richard Charles Brown, passed on to be with Our Lord and Savior on July 15, 2015 at the age of 75 after losing a long, hard battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family and close friends.
A Seattle native and Everett High graduate, he began a lifetime commitment to selfless service when he volunteered for active duty in the Regular Army in 1958. He continued his service-minded career path as a Communication Intelligence Officer for the Department of Defense which required frequent relocations of his family across the United States and overseas. Throughout these years, Richard’s work ethic, compassion for others, and sense of humor continued to solidify the creation of a man of strong conviction who believed in the importance of family values, integrity, commitment, and helping others without regard for personal sacrifice.
Rich was a “do-it-yourselfer” who always had a project at hand. It was rare to find him without a hammer, wrench, or power tool repairing, improving, or building something new. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting but most of all, time with his family, which included his wife of 51 years. His humor, laughter, and presence will be greatly missed. To those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Richard during his lifetime journey, they will always remember his wit, enthusiasm, and boundless energy.
Richard left behind his sister Marilyn Flink & husband of Gig Harbor, WA; his beloved wife Sandy; his two daughters Jill Burbridge & husband of Shelton, WA and Elizabeth Kirbow & husband of Port Orchard, WA; his two sons Michael Brown & wife of Spring, TX and Eric Brown & wife of Broken Arrow, OK; as well as his seven granddaughters and four grandsons. His laughter and smile will be greatly missed.
