Lyle Edgar  Johnston
Lyle Edgar Johnston was born on Sept.18, 1952 at Auburn General Hospital in Auburn WA. He died on May 16, 2014 at Tacoma General Hospital, Tacoma WA. He was 61 years old.
Lyle grew up in Kent, WA. He moved to Juneau, Alaska as a teenager. During his high school years he won Alaska's State Championship in wrestling. He resided in Alaska most of his adult life. He loved the outdoors and the slow pace that Alaska provided.
Lyle was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America Local 942. He worked on the Alaskan Pipeline for many years and for many other construction projects in Alaska. Lyle resided in Fairbanks, Alaska before retiring in 2003 for medical reasons.
Lyle moved to Tacoma, WA to be with family and to receive a kidney transplant in 2008.
His death was sudden. We loved him so much.
Lyle had many wonderful traits. He loved the Lord. He was respectful, outgoing, loved family, generous, funny, honest, hard working and helped the less fortunate. He loved to sing, laugh and crack jokes.
Lyle's hobbies were playing chess and pool. Lyle's favorite sayings were: "Everything is copacetic." and "Let's play it by ear".
Preceding him in death were his mother Ruby Leota Henderson and his father David Lyle Johnston.
Surviving him are his step-mother Caroline Florence Johnston; brother John David Johnston (Sharon);
sisters Jean Ethel Dobashi (Mosleh) and Terry Ann Wood; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
We love you with all of our hearts. We will miss you always.
