Gary D. Smith passed away Sept. 10, 2015 of a massive stroke at age 78. He was born in Moscow, Idaho but grew up and lived most of his earlier life in Spokane, WA. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad and Murphy Brothers Construction Company for over 30 years. Gary played semi-pro ice hockey in Spokane and Canada.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria; his children: Michelle Bockmier (Butch), Kristine Smith, Michael Smith, Scott Smith and Elizabeth Smith along with 6 granddaughters, 4 great-grandchildren; his brother George and stepsons Craig and Tony Labriola. Gary will be greatly missed by all who knew him and whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Gary on Oct. 4, 2015 at The Inn at Gig Harbor, 3211 56th St. NW from 2 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Human Society. www.thehumanesociety.org
