Obituary for Byron Jacobson

Byron Jacobson
Byron D. Jacobson, a retired Buffelen Woodworking employee, husband and father passed away. Byron was born February 7th 1939 and passed away February 13, 2016. He was born in Inglewood California and moved to Tacoma Washington with his parents Dorothy and Byron Jacobson at the age of seven. He was the first graduating class of Woodrow Wilson High School where he received his degree in general studies.
Don, as his family and friends called him, lived like most, providing for his family and doing his best in life. He enjoyed gardening and working with the Fircrest Civic and Heritage Club as their president. He and his family were also involved in the Masons, Eastern Star, Demolay and Rainbows. Don was elected to Worshipful Master at Ancient Landmark Masonic Lodge as well as Worthy Patron for The Order of Eastern Star. He was active in Boy Scouts and volunteered his time with Demolay as an advisor.
Don’s family would like to thank the incredible care he received at the Manor Care Nursing facility with a special thanks to Nurse Allison in the 100 wing for helping him smile through his ordeal. His family would also like to thank the team at St. Joseph’s hospital’s ICU. They were very professional and caring right to the end.
Don was preceded by death of his daughter Carole Jacobson and survived by his wife of 57 years Carolyn, son Bill and Grandchildren, Jackie and Liam Jacobson. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew them.
