My memory of "Bob"

I will deeply miss Bobs presence and his way of talking to me.  I have known Bob since 1980 when I met his beutiful daughter Bernie.  Shortly after that I married her and have been happy thereafter.  And for that I have to love the guy!  He told me I could never bring her back.  I learned why he said that but never did intend to bring her back anyway.

Bob and I had a special and close relationship.  He never gave a second thought about asking me for my computer, car, house or anything else.  He would always say "why don't you give me that one and you can get another".  Every once in a while...I did.  This made him happy but it made me more vulnerable to him asking.  I looked forward to the next time.  Bob was a story teller,-man he had some big ones.  he would intensely tell me about a time in his life and I would just listen.  He had a lot of life experiences in which seemed to dwarf my own experiences.  Bob was also a scrapper in that he knew how to pick things in garage sales and then turn right around and sell them for a profit.  He was good at it and enjoyed talking to people or maybe talking people out of things!  He was something to watch him work his magic.

Bob loved to watch the Mariners even though he never could not pronounce their names very well.  It was funny and endearing.  I remember going many places with Bob and Millie.  He enjoyed getting out.  In the earlier years we had lot's of camping trips to various parks, the oean, etc.  We would take him out on our boat because he loved to fish.  He was never much for sunshine but man did he like the rain.  He would always tell me "you can do anything in the rain you can do in the sun".  This never worked for me but I was glad to see he got a lot of rain for himself.

Well, I could go on and on with stories of Bob but there is not enough words.  I will keep them with me instead and let one out every once in a while.  I will miss you Bob.  I have learned from Bob as well.  Bob was a good friend and a father figure to me and most of all I appreciated his ability to scrap to earn a buck to keep his family fed.  My father was the same way and this commonality was touching to me.

Bob touched my heart in a good way and I will cherish the memories to infinity.  See you on the other side Bob!!

Love -Aaron
