Obituary for Elaine R. Davies

Elaine R.  Davies
Elaine R. (Schlewitz) Davies was born to Al & Fern Schlewitz at home in Belfield N.D. on January 12, 1927. Her parents moved to Tacoma in October 1934. She attended Concordia Lutheran School, Edison Elementary, Gray Junior High and Lincoln High School. She was confirmed in Grace Lutheran Church in May 1941 and met Frank Davies on June 13, 1941. They were married on October 29, 1946 in the Lutheran Church in Burien WA. They had 2 sons Chris and Kim. Elaine spent over 20 years singing with Sweet Adeline’s which brought her a lot of joy, confidence and friends. She was very involved in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She had a great love for God, her family, her church family and our great country. She traveled the world with her good friends.
Elaine is survived by her sister Marilyn Bauer; and her two sons: son Chris (Marilyn Whipple), granddaughter Tanya Fox (Travis) and great granddaughter Samantha and grandson Matt; son Kim (Gayle Gamblin), grandson Scott (Liz), great grandsons Andrew, Joey and Easton; granddaughter Jennifer Kelly (Jay).
She was thankful for all the many people she loved. The family would also like to thank Multicare Hospice and a special thank you to Caitlin.
A memorial will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 140 East 56th St. Tacoma on Saturday July 9, 2016 at 11 am followed by a reception at the church. Donations may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Concordia Lutheran School.
In Elaine’s words: “God is Love! Thankful for so many friends. God filled my heart with His love and shared and received love from many.”
