Obituary for Viola Weller

Viola Weller
Viola was born February 12th 1933 in Kalispell Montana to Asa and Bernice Corbin. She had four sisters. The family moved to Kelso Washington when Viola was young. From Kelso, they relocated to Tacoma where her family owned a home above a market that her father operated and that she sometimes work in. She attended Grey Jr. High and Lincoln High School.

After graduating she married the love of her life, Robert Weller, a union that lasted 62 years before he passed in 2016.

Vi never worked outside the home except for the couple of times when the grocery stores went on strike, and she would go to work with Bob and help him make it through those long days. They were always there for each other. Vi stayed busy participating in the PTA and attending kid's sporting events. She was room mother in her children's classes, and would also chaperon field trips. She packed lunches for the kids every day, and always included home-baked goodies. Dinner was always served promptly at 5:30 every night without fail. So to put it simply, she was an outstanding wife and mother.

Vi loved being a grandma. All the grand-kids have wonderful memories of Christmas Eve celebrations, egg hunts at Easter, and pool parties in the summer. It was always a good time at grandma's house.

Vi was an avid bowler. She bowled league at Pacific Lanes for five decades where she made many life long friends. She and her high school friends put together a Bingo group after graduating that met once a month. They took turns hosting it at one an-others home. As the years passed, it grew as new friends would be introduced to the group. This was something that Vi always looked forward to. It was a tradition that lasted well past the time Vi got ill and could no longer attend. It wasn't so much the bingo game itself that meant so much, as it was the friends she was able to stay in touch with.

Viola is survived by her sister Mona, Daughter Joy (Philip)Daughter Diane (Gary) Son Bill (Cherry) Daughter Judy (Bill) and Daughter Mona (Mike). Grandchildren, Jodi, Tim, Jenny, Billy, Amy, Emily, Sara, Heather, Corbin, and Zachary. Great-grandsons Jeremy, Billy, Noah, and Joe. Great granddaughters, Jaidyn and Cameron.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Marie, Frances, and Loretta, her grandson Joshua and her husband, Robert.

There is one thing Alzheimer's cannot take away, and that is Love. Love is not a memory; it's a feeling that resides in your heart and soul...
