Victoria Houston, resident of Pierce County since 1971, peacefully passed away on 8/11/18, at Harborview Hospital, after a tenacious struggle with multiple medical conditions. She was 69 years old. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, where she married Tacoma resident & Navy Submariner, Martin "Jerry" Bailey in 1966. She attended Pierce College and earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. In 1974, Victoria married Eugene Houston, a member of the United States Army. She served our country as a long-time civil servant of the United States Air Force. Later in life, she worked for South Sound 911, where she dispatched Pierce County law enforcement officers until she retired. Her leisure time was spent shopping, cooking, and traveling.

Her surviving family members include three loving children: Jeff Bailey and spouse, Shannon; Elissa Sorenson, and husband, Dan; and Tanya Locklear & spouse, Eddie. Victoria loved her four beautiful grandchildren, who motivated her to fight though her medical complications: Ashlee, Tori, Grace, and Jordan.
