Obituary for Stacey S. Grimes

Stacey S. Grimes, 51, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Stacey was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.


Stacey was born March 8, 1971 in Onawa, IA to Wesley and Suzanne Shattuck. Stacey was the youngest of four siblings of a military family. They lived in many locations before settling in Spanaway, Washington where she spent her childhood. She went on to graduate from Spanaway Lake High School.


On September 17, 1993, Stacey married Frank J. Grimes in Tacoma, Washington. Together the couple welcomed four daughters; who were the entirety of their world. Stacey and Frank raised their girls in Puyallup, Washington before relocating to Henderson, NV.


Stacey was a devoted mother and loved nothing more than being a mom to her daughters. Stacey was blessed with 10 grandchildren who were the light of her life and the reason for so many of her smiles. She had the biggest heart full of love for everyone and passionately executed that love through her own love of cooking. Stacey always found her way to your heart straight through your belly. She was notoriously known for the delicious heart warming meals she prepared for so many. The amount she was loved and will be missed is immeasurable.


Stacey is survived by her husband, Frank Grimes, their children; Tia (Jared) Langel of South Sioux City, NE, Alexis (Marc) Rood of Springfield, NE, Allysen (Ryan) Beaver of Council Bluffs, IA, and Shaylee (Alex) Radigan of Council Bluffs, IA, 10 grandchildren; Addalyn, Treyton, Natalie, Isla, Harlow, Carter, Everett, Owen, Rowen, and Avery, 3 siblings; Missy (Kurt) Freeman of Tacoma, WA, Kevin (Marykay) Shattuck of Smithland, IA, and Scott (Nancee) Shattuck of Henderson, NV, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.


Stacey was preceded in death by her parents; Wesley and Suzanne Shattuck and her mother in law, Guadalupe Grimes.


A celebration of life dinner will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 - 6pm at “The 101” 101 W. 3rd Street Sioux City, IA 51103.
