Obituary for Rozetta Ann Wade

Rozetta Ann Ely, Age 66, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022, surrounded by her loved
ones. She remained brave, courageous, and kept a strong spirit throughout her journey with
cancer.

Rozetta was born October 1, 1956, to Thomas Ely and Margret Cruz in Seattle Washington. She
spent her early childhood living in Wapato, WA before moving to Seattle in 1969. For many
years Rozetta worked for the United States Postal Service where she made plenty of lifelong
friends before retiring in 2021 after 26 years of service.
Rozetta had a zest for life. She enjoyed travel and experiencing new places, even if that meant
traveling solo. She spoke fondly of her solo adventures in Alaska and her chance encounter
with a polar bear.

Rozetta enjoyed competing, no matter what the game was, from organized sports to board
games. She played on many teams throughout her life including softball, bowling, and dragon
boat racing. Not only did she enjoy playing but also watching sports in particular the Seahawks
and Mariners. She was a devoted fan.
An avid gardener, Rozetta, grew some of the most beautiful flowers around and she could
revive even the homeliest of house plants.

Rozetta loved being a grandma, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and never
missed a millstone in their lives. They were her purpose, her pride and joy. She was a wonderful
grandmother, mother, aunt, and sister who was always there when we needed her. Rozetta
also had many friends and with her lively personality she easily made more wherever she went.
We will miss her greatly.

Rozetta was predeceased in death by her mother Margret and father Thomas. She is survived
by her Children; Sean [Jen], Thomas, and Erica [Timothy]. As well as her five Grandchildren;
Holden, Ely, Henry, Benjamin, and Ariana. Siblings; Royce [Dawn], Morris, Bobbie, and Mike
[Kelly] plus many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
