Obituary for Patricia Umemoto Salazar

Patricia Umemoto Salazar passed away on Saturday, January 7 th 2023. Patricia was born on
January 9, 1950 to Yoshimi “Yosh” Umemoto and Margaret Tabares Umemoto in Yakima, WA.
Patty grew up in Wapato, WA where she received her education from the Wapato School
District and was part of the Class of 1968. She earned her GED later while attending YVC. She
worked as a paraeducator for the Wapato School District for a couple of years and also ran a
home daycare but most of her time she was by her husband’s side. Patty and her husband
David were raised and lived in Wapato until 1998. They moved to Packwood, WA for David’s job
in log scaling. Patty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She most enjoyed
watching her grandchildren perform at home, school events, at Church and watching them
participate in sporting events.

Patty met her husband David Salazar in High School and they were married on November 19 th ,
1966. They raised four children, Sabrina Salazar, David S. Salazar, Brian N. Salazar (Leticia
Salazar), and Trecia N. Salazar Miller (Bradley J. Miller). She had many grand-children,
Christopher Roa, Francesca Roa (Alex Peralta), Gregorio “Goyo” Capetillo, Jorge Arambul Jr.,
Aliyah Salazar, Benjamin Salazar (Meliah Salazar), Ana Salazar, Autumn Barron, Nicholas Salazar.
Great grand-children, Joshua Roa and Joziah Roa, Abigail Capetillo, and Alexis Salazar.
She is preceded in death by her parents Yoshimi and Margaret Umemoto and her sister Sherry
Umemoto.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Stone
Church, 3303 Englewood Avenue, Yakima, WA. Reception to follow.
