Obituary for Leslie Silas "Les" Jordan Sr.

Leslie S. Jordan, Sr
10/26/1945 - 8/2/2021

On Monday, August 2, 2021, Leslie “Les” Silas Jordan, Sr. of Tacoma, WA passed away and gained his heavenly wings at the age of 75.

Les was born on October 26, 1945, in Kewanee, Illinois to the late Leonard Isaac Jordan, Sr. and Louise Beatrice (Bailey) Jordan. He graduated from Kewanee High School where he was a renowned track star. His passion for beautiful American and exotic cars, especially Corvettes, would lead him to become a highly respected and successful auto salesman at heart for over 25 years until he retired. While his conversations about auto sales were in depth, his expertise in this field was welcomed. In addition, Les had a love for his family, fishing, and cooking. He was known by many to make a flavorful seafood gumbo, delicious oxtail soup, a mouth-watering tender brisket and his oh-so-delicious homemade “Jordan and Jordan” BBQ sauce.
Les was blessed with a large family and is survived by his seven children: Anthony Jordan (Sharon) of Steilacoom, WA, Byron Jordan (ReGina) of Puyallup, WA, Aprile Jordan-Crain (Anthony) of North Dinwiddie, VA, Cimberly Jordan of Hopewell, VA, Eric Jordan (Katie) of Puyallup, WA, Kristine Vargas (David) of Renton, WA, and Leslie Jordan, Jr. of Tacoma, WA.

(14) Grandchildren: Dominique Jordan of Steilacoom, WA, Devante Bisson & Caleb Jordan of Tacoma, WA, Alexandria Flesher of University Place, WA, Anthony Crain II & Alyxandor Crain (Laura) of Fort Worth, TX, Cidney Watts of Kent, WA, Ryane Watts of Bowie, MD, Kallen & Cash Jordan of Puyallup, Maurice & Josiah Vargas of Renton, WA, Elizabeth & Liam Jordan of Tacoma, WA. (2) Great-Grandchildren: Dominic Jordan of Tacoma, WA and Rameer Jives of Renton, WA.

Sisters: Willa Walker of West Palm Beach, FL, Joyce Taylor of Galesburg, IL, Angie Jordon of Venice, CA, and Marjorie White of Chicago, IL Brothers: William (Deloris) of Kewanee, IL, Robert of Juliet, IL, and Kevin Jordan of Federal Way, WA. He is also survived by several cousins and hundreds of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by loving wife Benet (Sylvia) Jordan, his parents Leonard and Louise (Bailey) Jordan, as well as his sisters Arlene Ball, Marva Thomas, Victoria Newman, and Darlene Jordan, and his brothers Leonard, Donald, Louis, and John (Popman) and Gerald Jordan.

Les’ loving spirit, expert advice and infectious smile will remain in our hearts forever. The love, support and prayers from our family and friends warms our hearts and fills us with cherished memories.

A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at Franklin Park in Tacoma, WA.
