Obituary for Ivan R Waldner

September 22, 2019

Ivan Romain Waldner, 83, born in Rhein, Saskatchewan, Canada on September 9, 1936 passed away peacefully in hi sleep today. He was surrounded by his wife of 62 years, Nadia, and close family members. Poppy, knew it was time to walk through the open door to a new beginning,. He had struggled with a long history of health issues the past 3 years. He fought a long, hard battle for many years and did it with fortitude and determination. He always maintained his sharp wit and dry humor even till the very end, with a precious interview with his great grandson Hudson, who continues Ivan's legacy of enjoying the outdoors by fishing every chance he gets. We believe he chose this time to end his time here with us on his town terms and was empowered to do so with all the love of his family. Ivan showed us not only how to live life to our best, but ot accept the fact that death is nothing to be aftraid of. He considered himself lucky to have friends and loved ones nearby mot of his life. We, the family, know we could not finally cure Dad's illnesses or save him from going, but we worked very hard to accompany him along the way. Comforting him through till the end with love and devotion, knowing he wouldn't say a lot, but through those big blue eyes you could tell he appreciated everything to make him comfortably. Dad's passing itself was not under our control, but, how we thinking about it and how we comforted him along the way was. Dad was a silent mirror to our soul's and we will truly miss him, love you Poppy.

He leaves quite a legacy, his wife Nadia and Preston, Son's Philip (Tina), Ricky (Jackie), and Kenton, Grandchildren, Justin (Stephanie), Scarlett, and Konnor, Ashley and Zack. His very energetic and loving great grandchildren Hudson and Alice who loved him to pieces.
