Obituary for Elijah Marquel Smith-Glover

"Forever 29"
In the early hours of January 25, 2023, Elijah Marquel Smith-Glover was ushered through heaven's gates by his nana Sheila Smith, great-grandmother Johnnie Mae McNeal and grandfather's William Glover, James Butcher, and Doug Lohman; along with countless other family members and friends who entered before him. By his family Elijah is known by many nicknames "Son", "Man", "Snoop", "Lijah- Boo" and "Lijah-Gee". However, his friends called him "Easy". "Easy" was the essence of Seattle. He was easy to laugh, easy to love, and simply easy-going.

Elijah had an infectious laugh, and a bright smile that filled the room. He had his own unique fashion style, and an eclectic taste in music. Elijah loved music! He also loved snowboarding, skateboarding, and he had a joyous sense of adventure and a love of travel. Elijah was young in his career as an auto mechanic and was looking forward to graduating from South Seattle college this year.

Elijah is an old soul who will be "forever 29". Elijah spent time living near Tacoma WA and in Minneapolis MN during his younger years, but was primarily based in Seattle, WA. Elijah graduated from Franklin High School in 2012. He loved Seattle; particularly Rainer Beach and the south-end, the Central District, and downtown. He breathed his first breath of life in Seattle on January 1, 1994 and last in Seattle on January 25, 2023.

Elijah's love of family, life and memory will live on through storytelling by his friends and family. Elijah is survived by a large and uniquely blended family including his parents Van-Maurice & Jennifer Glover, and Danee Smith, grandparents Mary Walker, Walter & Eileen Leither, Mercy Glover, siblings Domonique, Isiah, and Xavier, and nephews Legend and Lyrique. Elijah shared his life and love with a huge family including many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close extended family.

His friends call him "Easy", and we all agree it makes sense because Elijah is Easy to love, Easy to laugh, Easy to be around, and Easy to remember. Our continued love and memories will be Easy because he lives on in our hearts. Easy has joined an exclusive group of guardian angels who will be by our side to light and guard, to rule and guide.

We love you Elijah! Rest Easy.
