Obituary for Douglas "Doug" Manning

Doug Manning 1948 - 2021

Doug was born to parents; Lawrence and Lucille in Lemmon, SD. He grew up in a loving family. Doug also had a lot of cousins, nieces and nephews he enjoyed spending time with. His family moved to Missoula Doug’s senior year of high school. Doug worked for Evans Products after graduating. After a short time, he joined the Air Force and served 4 years. Doug was stationed in England and Tawain where he enjoyed traveling throughout while on leave. After he got out, he went back to Evans in Missoula. In the summer of 1972, he met his wife, Bonnie. They were married 47 ¾ years. Doug learned how to run boilers and became a Stationary Engineer. Doug and Bonnie lived in Missoula until Evans closed. While expecting their first child, they moved to Thompson Falls, MT. Son Brian was born in 1981. The family then moved to Lakewood, Washington. Doug went to work for Western State Hospital. Daughter Faith was born in 1994. He retired after 32 years.

Doug lived his Catholic faith in a way that allowed people to feel the love of God through his presence. He was very involved in the church; he sang in the choir and was told by many how beautiful his voice was. Doug served on many committees, including the Lakes Area Food Bank for many years. Doug also belonged to the Knights of Columbus. Doug loved to travel and camp, he and his family went on a few cruises and camped throughout Washington and Montana.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents. Doug is survived by his wife Bonnie, daughter Faith, son Brian, and his wife Marianne, grandkids Colin, Lily, Lucy and Adela. Also, by siblings Colette {Lee}, Rick {Carol}, Camille {Buttons}, Larry, Terry {Debbie}

Doug was loved by his family and friends. He will be missed by everyone.

A Rosary will be said at 10:30am and followed by a funeral mass at 11:00am on May 14, 2021 at Saint Francis Cabrini 5715 108th St SW, Lakewood, WA 98499 Reception to immediately follow at the Manning residence.
