Obituary for Danny Eugene Rollins

Danny Eugene Rollins of Spanaway, Washington passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the age of 74.
He was born on July 27, 1948 and was the son of the late James Lacie Rollins and Kathleen Rector Rollins of Rock Hill, South Carolina. After high school, he joined the United States Army and made it his career for 20+ years rising to the top of the military ranks of Command Sergeant Major before retiring to make his home in Spanaway, WA. Danny always enjoyed returning to his South Carolina birthplace where his visits to his hometown would always take him back to his days of yesteryears gone by - always remembering the good ole days of Watkins hotdogs, his yearly visit to the Bleachery for a bag of Christmas goodies and the best ice cream at Crown Creamery. He was a collector of stamps, coins, and loved listening to his vintage record collections of country and gospel music. His grandchildren's best collective memories were his long road trips to California anticipating his homemade beef jerky that was highly coveted and worth fighting over, laughing at his (dad) jokes, and seeing his face beaming with pride. He is irreplaceable and will be deeply missed.

Dan lead a simple and unassuming life. He was an honorable and humble man - never saying a harmful word about anyone. He was a man of God and enjoyed teaching bible study. He accepted life challenges even in death but he knew he was loved and going home to be with his Creator. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and a most cherished brother.

Danny is survived by his wife Annie, one daughter Kim and four grandchildren who adored him: Christian, Brandon, Julia, Ava and one great granddaughter Aaliyah. Danny is also survived by his beloved sister Linda Rollins Odom of South Carolina and brother Ed S. Rollins of Sacramento, CA. He was predeceased in death by brothers James D Rollins, Gary A Rollins and sister Marilyn Rollins Bair. A very special thanks to his dearest and loyal friend Okey Akers and all his buddies he shared a deep friendship and camaraderie - Dan time truly loved these guys.
