Obituary for Connie Lou Peters (Beer)

Connie Lou Beer Peters, beloved wife and mother, grandmother , sister
and friend, passed away peacefully on March 4. Connie was born on
October 3rd , 1942 in Vancouver, Washington to Dr. James R Beer and his
wife, Marjorie, Anita (Jones)Beer.

Connie’s love for her family, her brother, her sisters, and their
families was evident throughout her lifetime
As a young child Connie moved with her family to St Paul Minnesota
where she graduated from high school in 1960. Connie then attended
Washington State University and graduated with a degree in
microbiology and medical technology. Connie was both a medical
technologist, and taught microbiology at Pacific Lutheran University in
Tacoma.

It was at Washington State University that Connie met her husband,
Robert (Bob) Peters. The couple was married on August 25, 1965 in
Tacoma. Connie moved to Germany to be with her husband who was in the US ARmy and stationed
in Germany. While there, she and Bob enjoyed traveling to several
countries in Europe. In 1972, the couple made their permanent home in
Puyallup.

Connie loved adventure and spent her youth vacationing with her family
in the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota as well as camping with them
throughout the United States.

Her friends and family will remember Connie as a truly giving person
who often put the needs of others before her own. She was a masterful
seamstress and a cook who could turn a flat of berries or a box of apples
into an array of luscious desserts. Connie could keep her children and
their friends happily occupied for hours with creative crafting projects
and always made time for them. She was an avid reader who loved her
Kindle. Connie's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew
her.

Connie was an active member of the Summit United Methodist Church
and the Red Hat Society for many years. She was preceded in death by
her parents, James and Marjorie Beer . She leaves behind her husband,
Bob; her three adult children, Cathy (John) Harris, Dan (Sara) Peters, and Jim
Peters ( Jennifer Poole); three grandchildren, Cole Harris, Luke Harris,
and Conner Peters; three sisters, Rosalie Beer, Patti Beer-Ingrasci, and
Terri Bixby; and her brother, Robert Beer.
