Roberta "Robin" Valencia McKinney was born on February 14th, 1962 in Youngstown, Ohio, and passed away on April 27th, 2016 in Tacoma, Washington. Robin graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma. She was the second daughter of Bill and Geneva McKinney. Robin is survived by four siblings, William McKinney II, Lawrence McKinney, David McKinney, Liz Becker, and a large number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her parents, brother, Billy Lynn McKinney, and sister, Esther Dolores McKinney, precede her in death. Robin graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served 12 years in the Navy. Most recently she worked for Pierce County managing facilities contracts. She was an avid writer and had started her second career as a motivational speaker. Robin loved listening to and playing a variety of musical instruments which she collected from all around the world. Robin was loved by a large extended family and a multitude of friends.
