Obituary for Gladys Conachan

Devoted wife and mother Gladys (Willis) Conachan, 87, of Federal Way Washington, passed away December 28, 2016 at her home surrounded by family. Gladys was born June 25, 1929 in Sunderland England to Herbert Norman and Ann Willis. She was the youngest of nine children. When she was 20 years old, Gladys made the voyage across the Atlantic to visit her sister Ann (Willis) Thompson (Tom) in Portland Oregon. Gladys along with Ann and her family relocated to Seattle Washington. Gladys would eventually meet her husband Jack on a blind date. They got married in Seattle on January 30th, 1954. Gladys and Jack had three daughters - Kathleen, Nancy and Kelli. She is preceded in death by her parents and all her eight siblings. Gladys is survived by Jack, Kathleen, Nancy, Kelli, Kathleen's children - her granddaughter Sarah (Clayton), her grandson Jacob (Emma), Kelli's children - her granddaughter Hannah (Roy), and her grandson Dayne. She is also survived by her nieces Debbie (Thompson) Becker (Bill) and their children Matthew (Jamie) and Allison, and Susan (Thompson) Kaas. A small at home service was held in January 2017 and family members gathered in September to participate in the 'Walk to end Alzheimer's' walk in Redmond.
